Tracking Your Portfolio Using coins.live

This blog post will show you how to use coins.live to track your portfolio. Looks like we are up 5% so far. Not too bad for less than a month 🙂

If you are new to this blog, you might want to start from the beginning as we walk through step-by-step how to get set up and purchase the top 10 cryptocurrencies.

Now that we have made our purchase of the ten top cryptocurrencies, let’s see how much we have made (or lost). You can track your portfolio using coins.live.

Then you can add your transactions to coins.live. You will need the currency symbol, date of purchase, quantity purchased and price paid. For the first few coins, you can find your transaction information from GDAX. Goto Fills in your GDAX account:

GDAX - View Filled Orders
GDAX – View Filled Orders

Goto each Currency Pair that you traded (in our case BTC/USD, BCH/USD, ETH/USD, and LTC/USD) to get the dates, trade size and price.

Enter the BTC/USD information from GDAX into coins.live as a transaction. Start with the BTC we purchased on 1/31/2018 and click on Next:

Coins.Live - BTC/USD Purchase Date
Coins.Live – BTC/USD Purchase Date

Then enter in the Price and Quantity

You will get a message saying that the transaction was successfully added. Click on Add Another Transaction to continue adding all of the transactions you have from GDAX

Continue with the rest of your GDAX transactions. In some cases, you will need to add two or more transactions if it took a few to complete your limit order. For instance in the case of our ETH/USD transactions, it was filled with two separate orders. Enter each as a new transaction into coins.live:

GDAX - Multiple Fills to complete Limit Order

Finally, we will need to enter in all of our orders from Binance. Now, remember we did the trades in ETH, so the trades will show as that, but the easiest thing to do is just estimate each purchase at $1,000 for the quantity of coins purchased.

Goto Trade History to get the dates of each of your transactions:

Binance - Trade History
Binance – Trade History

Then goto Balances to get the quantity of coins you purchased.

As an example of how to enter, we have 2,242.799 XLM, so the price paid for this coin is $1,000 / 2,242.799 = 0.445871431189331. We enter this into coins.live:

Binance - Entering in XLM purchase

Once everything has been entered in, click on Portfolio and you will get your current portfolio value. Looks like we have already made 5%! It will also show you the profit percentage for each coin, your portfolio proportion, and your transactions
