How To Buy Cryptocurrency – Market Fluctuation and The Risk Of Exchanges:

This blog post takes a side note since there are some interesting things going on in the market with IOTA now switching with NEM (XEM) for the #10 market cap coin; and Binance being suddenly unavailable. If you are new to this blog, you might want to start from the beginning as we walk through step-by-step how to get set up and purchase the top 10 cryptocurrencies.

Well, today is an interesting day. We had planned to do a new post on how to purchase NEM (XEM), but it looks like IOTA has now taken the #10 spot on the top 10 market cap coins 🙂 Welcome to the world of volatility.

So, we had a few options:

  1. Purchase NEM anyway
  2. Purchase IOTA
  3. Purchase both since part of our plan was to buy any cryptocurrency that was in the top 10

I was going to move forward with #3 and IOTA should have been an easy purchase; however as luck would have it Binance is suddenly down. So we cannot make the IOTA purchase.

So a couple of things to note with this blog post.

  1. As we see there is still a lot of volatility in the cryptocurrency market, so we will see switches in the top 10 tokens
  2. Exchanges are still somewhat new and vulnerable, which is why we ultimately will be storing our cryptocurrency in cold storage on hardware wallets

Anyway, a quick side note for today. The next blog post will still work through purchasing NEM (XEM), since it was in the top 10 during this first quarter of 2018.
